Department for Education opens tenders for School Food Plan funding

The Department for Education is inviting tenders to the value of £17.4 million for services to support school readiness to provide school lunches to all infant pupils in England from September 2014 (£9.6m); to kick start increased take up in at least 2000 junior and secondary schools where take-up of school lunches is low (£4.8m); and to set up breakfast clubs in at least 500 schools where over 35% of pupils are eligible for free school meals and there is no existing breakfast provision (£3m).
