Share what works well

Actions in the School Food Plan

The Action:

Share ‘what works well’ on a new website, to enable schools to learn from each other

Celebrating the importance of sharing what works well around delivering great food and food education

Every school is different, and every school faces a different combination of challenges as it tries to improve its food. There is no one-size-fits-all template of perfection. But there are certain challenges that crop up again and again, from the small rural primary struggling to break even, to the massive urban secondary school battling to squeeze its students into a tiny canteen. Luckily, for every difficulty that arises, there is a school somewhere out there that has found a way to fix it. The ‘What Works Well’  website exists to help schools come together to share practical ideas and experiences. It’s about giving head teachers, governors, cooks, caterers and local authorities easy access to each other’s ideas, to help spread best practice faster and wider. There are great examples across all aspects of school food, from delivering great quality meals to reducing queues, learning to cook to managing contracts, getting a new kitchen to getting parents involved. Explore what works well and share you own experiences here. [su_carousel source="media: 2504,2503,2502" limit="5" width="660" height="688" items="1" title="no" class="www-carousel"]
