Capital funding allocation for universal infant free school meals announced

The government has now announced how the capital funding to support the delivery of universal free school meals for infants from September 2014 will be allocated.

£150 million of capital funding will be delivered through local authorities for maintained schools, based on the number of infant pupils they have. The portion for academies will be delivered through the Academies Capital Maintenance Fund, also based on the number of infant pupils they have.
