Teacher Training Update – December 2015

17 Dec 2015

The work to improve all teachers’ understanding of good food, good food education and the wider impacts on pupil health and well-being is now well underway following the initial round-table in November.

After listening to the views of the stakeholder community three key work streams have now been agreed. These focus on i) raising the policy priority of training in this area, ii) using targeted communications to get the message out to the stakeholder community, and iii) developing suitable materials to help provide the foundation training for all teachers and staff.

A high level plan for delivery between January and March 2016 has been developed and we are now looking for champion organisations to lead this work following the wind-down of the School Food Plan Office in March 2016.

If you or your organisation would like to be involved in any of these work streams, then please get in touch with Paul Blakeley (paul@schoolfoodplan.com) or Sarah Grant (sarah@schoolfoodplan.com) by the 18th of December 2015. In addition, if you have any thoughts you wish to feed into discussions, please let us know.

Make sure you check back soon to find out more about how this work is taking shape.
